As we come closer to the time of true and complete Geulah, the feeling of destruction and exile which used to accompany these days [of the month of Tammuz] diminishes and goes away. And [on the contrary], there is a growing feeling of preparation for the Geulah. The good (“tov”) in the 17 Tammuz (which has a gematria of “tov” in Hebrew) and in the three weeks following it is being revealed.

Rabbeinu Yonah states that comforting mourners is [a mitzvah] given in the Written Torah, and that mourners should even comfort each other. It seems to be difficult to understand: how can one mourner comfort another who is mourning with him? He is also being consumed by grief!
