The Rebbe reveals:

– The mitzvah of brit milah is above all the mitzvos of the Torah. It’s even above one of the names of HaShem! This fact is hinted in the following verse of the Torah: “For this commandment which I command you this day, is not concealed from you, nor is it far away. It is not in heaven, that you should say, « Who will go up to heaven for us and fetch it for us, to tell [it] to us, so that we can fulfill it? » (« Devarim » 30:11-12). The initial letters of a phrase « Who will go up to heaven for us » in Hebrew make up the word « milah ». The ending letters of this same phrase make up the Name of HaShem! (as stated by the Alter Rebbe in the « Ohr ha-Torah »).
