15th of Shevat marks the date for calculating the beginning of the agricultural cycle for the purpose of tithes. It coincides with the season in which the earliest-blooming trees in the Land of Israel emerge from their winter sleep.

Tu bi-Shvat is a great occasion to serve the table with fresh and dried fruits. Particularly – from the “Seven Kinds” that are singled out by the Torah in its praise of the bounty of the Land of Israel.
